Order management

Order processing times

When calculating order response times, Startpit automatically considers your working hours, the other company's working hours, different time zones, and national public holidays. Every step has a deadline shown on the order as the "Next deadline".

By default the seller must react to a new order within a short business-time window; otherwise the pending items are automatically declined. The 1-hour response time in the Pending status may, in practice, span several calendar days if the order is placed outside the Seller's working hours, because only the Seller's actual recorded working hours are counted.

Order statusWhose working hours are countedTime limit
Pending (after the Buyer places an order)Seller1 working hour. If the Seller does not respond in time, the system automatically declines the order.
Pending (after the Seller submits a backorder proposal)Buyer1 working hour. If the Buyer does not respond in time, the system automatically declines the backorder proposal.
ApprovedSellerThe maximum delivery period defined in the Seller's Special conditions. A delay is recorded if the Seller has not clicked Delivered by 23:59 on the final delivery day; the order is highlighted in red. No additional automatic actions are taken.
Approved / Split / Backorder (Seller offers a backorder after approving)Buyer3 business days to accept or decline the Seller's proposal.
Delivered (delivery acceptance)BuyerAt least 10 business days, or longer if specified in the Seller's Special conditions. The deadline expires at 23:59 on the final business day. If the Buyer takes no action, the system automatically accepts the delivery.
Delivered – claim submittedSeller3 business days to respond to the claim. If no action is taken, the system automatically accepts the claim.
Delivered / Archived (payment)BuyerThe payment deadline is calculated from the delivery date, based on the payment terms in the Seller's Special conditions. If payment becomes overdue, the order is highlighted in red and the Payment Late button becomes available to the Seller.

Delivery must happen by the delivery deadline, which is based on the delivery term you see when ordering.
